For us middle aged folk, we might be able to learn something from the younger crowd with respect to technology and relationships.
Regardless of your age, how often do you communicate with your spouse during the day? One time – two times – NO times?
Would you believe that, according to Pew Research, 85% of young people expect to hear from their partner at least once a day. 35% expect to hear every few hours! Thankfully only 11% expect it every hour. Phew…
Another interesting stat among the 18-25 year old crowd is that people who have similar texting styles are more satisfied in their relationship! Crazy huh?
We try to keep in touch with each other during the day – a text to check up or a quick little love note. It’s super important to let your spouse know you are thinking of them often. We have begun to expect it now and when we don’t hear from the other one within 4 hours or so we get a little worried.
This message may not apply to the older generation but for anyone 20-60 or so it could work out well and a simple text or two a day will show the LOVE of your LIFE you are thinking of them and care!
Text away!
PS – We recommend you DO NOT use text to argue – only to show love! Texting in arguments is dangerous because so much gets lost in translation. We know this from experience!
Interesting stats! Technology has changed so much about how our world operates….I never thought about how it has changed relationships. Very eye opening!

When my wife and I were still working during our pre-retirement years, we frequently exchanged a text at least once during each workday.

Hi Michael and Joya!
This is a wonderful website you have going about this critical topic of marriage (especially in God’s eyes). Thank you for your heart of service, helping others along their journey. ❤️
We definitely agree with your sentiments about texting your spouse throughout the day when possible. Bill and I typically spend our lunch breaks communicating with one another about the progression of our day. Helps each other feel included.
Sending that I love you text, I’m thinking of you and praying for you, I believe in you, thank you for all you do … so very powerful the impact this has on a marriage (and the happiness within it!).
God bless each of you. Keep up the amazing work. 🙏🏼
